Bakersfield Community Theatre is seeking passionate, engaged individuals to join our Board of Directors.
We are especially interested in candidates with experience or interest in:
Additional areas where help will be greatly appreciated include: Costume & Prop Management, History & Archival, Community Outreach, Production & Artistic Direction, Front of House & Box Office, Legal, HR, or Organizational Leadership.

- Marketing, Photography, & Social Media
- Technical Theatre, Set Building, Design
Additional areas where help will be greatly appreciated include: Costume & Prop Management, History & Archival, Community Outreach, Production & Artistic Direction, Front of House & Box Office, Legal, HR, or Organizational Leadership.
Board members are expected to devote an average of 12-15 hours per month to attend monthly meetings, serve on at least one committee, serve as house staff for performances and events, help maintain the property and facilities , and act as ambassadors for Bakersfield Community Theatre.
How do I Apply for Board Membership?
To Apply, please submit your Letter of Intent and working and/or theatrical resume via email to [email protected] by April 30, 2026.

What happens after that?
Applicants will be contacted on or before May 3 to arrange a time to meet and interview with the current Board of Directors.
Once interviews are complete, members of the organization will vote and all applicants will be notified.
New Board Members will attend an orientation prior to their first board meeting.
